It would be an Erroneous Quantum Leap to conclude that “closely bunched” meant that the shots had to be fired by different gunmen. We’re comfortable studying this sequence in eighteenths of a second but if two shots occurred a scant 4.9 seconds apart, your average witnesses-in-the-street might describe them as “closely bunched,” especially if the interval following the first shot was noticeably longer, say, 9.5 seconds (hZ048/Z222/Z313).
