Those of us old enough may remember how conventional wisdom was buffeted back-and-forth with each new discovery.  You might recall before the Single Bullet Theory when that conventional wisdom settled on President Kennedy being hit by the first shot just before disappearing behind the Stemmons Freeway sign.  We all bought into it.

“The response to this criticism [of the original LIFE magazine article] was to push that first shot forward 1 second, to about Z208.  This allowed Kennedy to be hit in the throat just before he disappeared behind the sign at Z212, and still gave Oswald 5.83 seconds to fire the three shots.”  (The Final Truth, p. 102.)

It is these exact four frames, Z208Z211, that were spliced out by the FBI, who waited three years before claiming that it was a “lab accident.”

(To be continued.)
